What is “Carnaval”? – "Carnaval," also known as carnival, is an exuberant festival held usually in February or March, renowned for its samba music, elaborate costumes, and stunning floats, it's a spectacle of joyous festivity. It features lively street celebrations, parades, and vibrant costumes and masks. 

This year, Celliers d’Asie and Raffles Hotel Le Royal bring this exciting festival to Phnom Penh!

Event #1: Carnaval-Themed Dinner Buffet at Le Phnom, with entertainment from Sabor Caribe.

Kick off your evening with a lavish Asado-themed buffet at Le Phnom Restaurant, accompanied by the vibrant sound of the Caribbean: a unique mix of melodies and beats from Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Jamaica and West Indies, performed by Sabor Caribe. Starring Cécile Dahomé: who’s sunny vocals are influenced by her roots from Guadalupe and Brazil, sustained by the groovy trio of Phil Javelle, Gunther Hofmans & Mika mastering Bossa Nova, Samba, Cumbia, Guaguanco, Reggae and Salsa.

Event #2: 5-Course Fine Wine Dinner at Le Royal Restaurant, with an ensemble of Piano Y Violines del Tango.

For those seeking a heightened culinary journey, indulge in a decadent 5-course dinner prepared by Chef Martin at Le Royal Restaurant, expertly paired with Concha Y Toro’s premium wines from the “Jewels of the New World” collection.

Enhanced by the mesmerizing melodies of Piano Y Violines Del Tango, featuring the captivating talents of Metta Legit on piano beside Sharon Lui and Simon Gilbert on violins. Attendees will also observe the elegant expression of passion and poise of Tango Dance performed by a sensuous duo.

Event #3: Carnaval Main Show & Concerts! With special performances of OSOKO Band, Maki Orkestra, and SalSamba Dance Troupe.

Embark on a night to remember with performances by the acclaimed OSOKO! Band, a dynamic 10-piece ensemble hailing from Ho Chi Minh City, delivering electrifying Afro and Afro-funk rhythms. Joining them onstage is the locally celebrated Maki Orchestra, renowned for their captivating fusion of Gypsy, Folk, Eastern European, and Mediterranean melodies.  The cherry on top, a special Carnaval dance performance by SalSamba Dance Troupe.

• Carnaval Show starts at 8:00pm, and ends at 10:00pm

Event #4: Rum Afterparty at the Elephant Bar with DJ Chillbill

Keep the festivities going at the Elephant Bar with a rum-fueled afterparty featuring  an eclectic blend of Afro and Latin American rhythms curated by DJ Chillbill.  Sponsored by Rum Explorer, this lively event is free for all Carnaval ticket holders.
