The markets at Factory Phnom Penh and Urban Village are BACK!​ “The Fashion Avenue” is seeing its first edition this weekend

With many competitors in-town in regards to market events in Phnom Penh, it was obvious that the relaunch of the market events at Factory Phnom Penh would need a fully revamped concept and format in order to be attractive.

Formerly known as the "Weekend Market”, The Fashion Avenue to integrate into its concept a fashion dimension, using the Factory Retail street as a #streewalk and being the main attraction of the Event. This event being in close collaboration with Fasana Fashion School, this first edition will welcome dozens of photographers and models, all hoping to win cash prizes for best model and best photography.

“Making the fashion communities closer with the larger public is the ultimate goal of the Fashion Avenue events. This is also why Fasana were very motivated to join the project” announced Mr. Karl Diederich, from the Urban Village team.

Since Urban Village has been continuing its expansion and occupancy, with more than 2000 persons living there, it only made sense to have the markets coming back.

“Our new markets will be one weekend per month, with a different fashion theme each time. Plenty of diverse vendors as it used to be, many family-friendly activities with Funtastic and Funderland joining and the fashion contest in retail street” explained Ms. Sary Sovattey from the Urban Village team.

This market event is also aiming to support local businesses, independent designers, and emerging creative talents, keeping Factory Phnom Penh to aim as to stay the main hub for creativity, inspiration, and connection in Phnom Penh.

By relaunching the markets rebranded as The Fashion Avenue, Factory Phnom Penh and Urban Village demonstrate their commitment to support the local creative community and Phnom Penh's fashion industry.

Furthermore, The Fashion Avenue will not only cater to fashion enthusiasts but also delight food lovers with a large and versatile choice of food vendors. From international gourmet cuisine to local street food favourites, visitors can indulge in a gastronomic journey that complements the vibrant atmosphere of the event.

Save the date for the inaugural edition of The Fashion Avenue, which will take place on 10, 11 and 12 May 2024, from 12:00pm to 8:00pm (Entrance from Urban Village side)
