If you are the person who tortures yourself by letting the food sits in front of you as you wait for the rest of the order to come out, and then stops your friends from digging into the food just so you can take pictures of the glorious mouth-watering food for social media accounts, then continue reading because 5 top places in Phnom Penh for Instagram-worthy food photography are about to be revealed.

(The list is going in order from #5 - #1.)

#5 Cousin’s Burger and Coffee

This place is an underrated French owned gourmet burger place, but their burgers are so tasty especially with their signature buns made from sweet potato! Yummy! Once the platter of burger comes out and is placed right on your table, you know you have to take a photo of it.

Though the dishes look really good, one down side is the shop itself, it looks very plain and uninteresting. Which is why it’s ranked fifth in my perspective.

Location: #16. Oknha Men Street (200), Sangkat Boeung Raing, Phnom Penh

Price: $5.00 - $10.00

#4 Java Café Toul Kork

Java Café Toul Kork is such a beautiful and bright place. The food there tastes good, but the food presentation at this café is not that good. The dishes look too simple, but it is the design and lighting of the shop that make every picture that is taken there look super spot-on!

The design is very modern, white walls, tall black framed windows, and bold colored couches. Plus, the lights that come through these windows hitting the white walls make perfect lighting for photography freaks, like myself.

Location: Street 337, Phnom Penh

Price: $5.00 - $10.00

#3 Van’s Restaurant

If you’re looking for a fancy dinner and to snap some pictures, Van’s Restaurant is the place! Van’s Restaurant looks like a dining room of an old classic mansion of a royalty, everything looks just so classy! Moreover, the presentation of each dish looks very well-thought and amazing.

The atmosphere along with the dishes will make sure you cannot leave without taking some photos. However, it is ranked third because well, you get what you pay for, and what you’re paying at Van’s is going to leave you having instant noodles for the rest of the month. Or two months.

Location: #. 5 STREET 102, Phnom Penh

Price: Above $21.00

#2 Gerbie’s Salads and Sandwiches

Good lighting, and tasty looking western food, what else are you looking for to snap? Pretty girls? No, you should never trade good looking food for good looking girls or boys! Go to Gerbie’s and sit upstairs, order just about anything on the menu because everything looks so Tumblr and tastes good!

Not to mention, the place itself also looks like you’re at some shop abroad which you may also steal some dramatic fake candid shots of yourself. The downside is, it’s not recommended for claustrophobics—the place is very small.

Location: # 78, St 51 (Pasteur), BKK1, Phnom Penh

Price: $5.00 - $10.00

#1 The Tiger’s Eye

The best place for food photography goes to The Tiger’s Eye! This place is a much underrated restaurant serving gourmet food. Ranging from the shop’s décor, to space, to lighting, to food presentation, and to taste, it is a must go-to-restaurant!

You will be staring at the plate the moment the waiter carries it out the kitchen until it sits on your table. You will excitedly take out your smartphone and take photos of these Instagram-worthy dishes, and then once you have a bite of the food, you’re going to get excited again because it is just as good as it looks! A little bit pricey, but shut up and take my money! All hail!
