The-Lazy-To-Cook Starter Kit for the Upcoming Holiday

With the upcoming holidays, FoodBuzz will be your guide to those who will not spend this long holiday anywhere else but home. Remember that staying at home is not always a bad thing, you can spend the whole days doing nothing (isn’t that something we all always dream of?), or having snacks while watching to your favorite shows (this is the best part of staying at home).

So, here are the food guides to the stay-at-home-club starter kit.

1. Eggs / Fried Egg / Boiled Egg

Egg is probably one of the easiest ingredient for cooking ever. It fits in all categories – appetizers, main dish, breakfast, brunch nor dinner.  You can as well rotate various ways of cooking from frying to boiling and such.

Not to mention, it’s full of vitamins too.

2. Instant Noodle / Cup Noodle

“it’s cheap and it’s convenient.” True that, especially when all the small stores in your neighborhood are not open but you’ve got few packs of instant noodle to save yourself from starving. It works all the time.

3. Sausage and Dry Fish

Fill your fridge with sausage and dry fish, so the whole long holidays will be safe and no one gets hurt. Definitely, who cares about driving for a long trip, walking in the hot weather when you have enough supply to last for a week? It’s not like you can eat them every day anyway.

Did we skip the part where they are a bit pricey? Not to seafood extent, but definitely at some range that doesn’t count as cheap. Eat wisely comes with spend wisely, always.

4. Bread

The special thing about the bakeries such as Tous Les Jours, BreadTalk, or Eric Kayser is that, they are still open during holidays. Which means, finally something you could buy for breakfast or afternoon snack.

The mentioned brands are the most popular bakery shops in Phnom Penh, where you can have selections of bread and pastries to fill up your hunger satisfaction. Because having bread is a must.

5. Potatoes

Do you know that, instead of going to fast-food restaurants, you can as well cook your own fries? It’s a fact, thus; not so surprised that you have known that. (We’re just kidding!) But, yes, a kilogram of potato is around 4000 – 6000 Riels only which you get a whole bowl of fries making from all of your heart.

So, better get a bottle of ketchup ready in the kitchen and start frying your own potatoes. Trust us, it’s a lot sweeter than those you buy.
