Online grocery shopping experiences and processes from 4 supermarkets in Phnom Penh
Based on the current situation, buying groceries becomes one of the concerning matters to figure out since we have to isolate ourselves. Due to that, FoodBuzz wants to share some of our experience on purchasing groceries online from 4 supermarkets based in Phnom Penh city which are AEON Mall Phnom Penh, Makro, Chip Mong, and Lucky.
1. AEON Mall Phnom Penh
First, to complete all the purchasing processes, you have to go to Aeon's website https://aeononlineshopping.com/home/. There are so many pre-cooked foods as well as snacks, drinks, meat, vegetables, and home essentials. We clicked on whatever needed, then completed all the required information and paid via Visa card. For notice, AEON doesn't accept delivery on the same day you ordered. For instance, we placed our order on April 23rd but we had to set the date to April 24th. The next day around 3 PM we received our groceries successfully.
2. Chip Mong Supermarket
The next one is Chip Mong Supermarket, you can order on the delivery app also they do have Telegram but unfortunately, we didn't get any response from them. If you are looking for fresh vegetables, fruit, meat, we recommend ordering online from Chip Mong Noro Mall directly or by using the NHAM24 app. For another Chip mong branches available only canned foods and snacks. As an order from the NHAM24 app, it only takes 30-60mintutes to wait for your groceries to arrive.
3. Lucky Supermarket
Lucky Supermarket doesn't have either an app or website but we can direct messages to their Telegram, Messenger, and WhatsApp to place your order. We choose Lucky Sen Sok since it is the nearest one in our area. According to our experience, we didn't get any response on Telegram for 2 days so we decided to call for clarification and sadly to hear that they couldn't provide a delivery service because they don't have any delivery man so that's mean we have to go pick up our items by ourselves. We did try to contact Lucky Supermarket Toul Kork branch as well but still didn't get any response. Thus, our groceries online purchasing from Lucky supermarket failed.
4. Makro
You can decide to order from either Makro's website or app, for us, we chose to order from the app. There are plenty of items for us such as bread, meat but meat mostly available as a frozen option include dumplings, Dim sum, lobsters also fresh vegetables and fruits. If you need to know furthermore about the available items, you can go to Makro's website. After clicking on what you need, click on the payment then just complete the required information. As mentioned in their information, Makro takes 1-2 days to deliver items. For us, it took 2 days and we did receive a verification message about any changes or for items that were out of stock on the telegram from Makro.
