Starbucks Cambodia Extends Coffee Footprint to Kampot

The global coffeehouse is ready to brew and serve Kampot communities.

KAMPOT, Cambodia- 8th of December, Starbucks Cambodia officially celebrated the opening of its first store in the heart of Kampot city center. The store aims to provide the local community with the cozy ambiance and authentic Starbucks experience that the global coffeehouse is known for.

The blend of traditional and modern interior and decoration really tells the story of Kampot River (Preaek Tuek Chhu), the store is housed in the historic "Fish Market" building, which dates back to the 1930s during the French colonial era. The store has retained most of the original features of the building's history, featuring the vintage colors, and fixtures that add to the store’s charm.

One of the highlights of the store is a vibrant mural titled "Under A Million Stars," created by local artists Peap Tarr and Lisa Mam. The mural depicts the iconic Starbucks Siren swimming amidst the natural beauty of Kampot, holding Kampot Pepper and coffee cherries, symbolizing the connection between the renowned properties of the region. The mural is adorned with durian husks, which is the main fruit that represents Kampot.

“We are thrilled to be opening our first store in Kampot City,” said Mr. Por Lim, general manager, of Coffee Concepts (Cambodia) Limited. “Our new store will offer a unique coffee experience that showcases our deep passion for some of the finest coffees from around the world while honoring the country’s rich heritage and culture.”

“Starbucks is strongly committed to contributing to the neighborhood it serves. Earlier this month, we teamed up with Planet Water Foundation to build an Aqua Tower water filtration system inside Angromeas High School in Dang Tung District, Kampot Province that brought safe and clean water access to the students and locals in the village up to 1,800 liters daily,” added Mr. Por Lim.
