Khmer Lort Cha placed in the Top 50 Street Food in Asia!
On August 24, 2022, CNN, an American cable news channel, published an article detailing popular street food that can be found in Asia. One of the 50 items listed is a dish that we are all familiar with. That’s right! Lort Chha (silver-pin noodles) was listed as one of the 50 top street foods in Asia. Woah!
Lort Chha is a local favorite for Cambodians and it can be found in many street stalls, in local markets and small food carts as well.
The Lort, or the silver-pin noodle, is very soft yet chewy and they’re usually topped with beef, eggs and Khmer pork pate. It’s a versatile dish that can include many vegetables including beansprouts, chives, bok choy, broccoli, etc.
For the kick, you can add their savory yet sour fish sauce, Hoisin sauce and Chili sauce as well. If you prefer it a little spicy, you can also ask for the Lort Chha to be cooked with chili oil. Believe us when we say that it’s as mouth watering as we make it sound!
We’re very proud to see one of our local cuisines being featured by the international community!
