The Cambodia Chef Society has organized a fun gathering for chefs from all regions

Recently, chefs in Phnom Penh attended a unique event “The Cambodia Chef Society (CCS)” in the city. Held by Mr. Song Teng, the president of the Cambodia Chef Society on Saturday the 30th, July of 2022, many chefs from different hotels, restaurants and places in the food industry in Cambodia gathered together to celebrate and promote Khmer food and culinary skills to national and international guests.

In particular, we would like to express my gratitude for the presence of Mr. Weng Aow, Managing Director of DARA HOTELS GROUP, who was also invited to attend.

It was a surreal experience to see firsthand the interaction between all the chefs as they exchanged culinary knowledge and what they have been through as expertises in the industry.

Decorated the air with heavenly smelling aroma, the food and beverages in this event were specially made and graciously sponsored by participating restaurateurs. We were very grateful to be able to partake in this wondrous event hosted by the CCS. 

 

A little background about how this event came to be, the Cambodia Chef Society was established in 2012 and aimed to bring together friends of all generations, young and old, and encourage the next generation of chefs to gain experience from the previous generation and to promote their local products.

To participate in this event, all participants are required to wear their personal chef uniform. As for the cost of participation, members of the Cambodia Chef Society were able to attend for free. However, any chef who was interested but not a member could also join in by purchasing the ticket for the price of 25 USD per person. 

The Cambodian Chef Community Association expressed its gratitude and expressions in the program, really happy to be able to participate and receive recognition, especially really happy to have the solidarity of our chefs. We sincerely hope that this program will get the members of the Cambodian Chef Community Association to know each other and work together for the common goal of promoting the Cambodian food industry and the chef sector.
