WILD: A little oasis in the heart of Phnom Penh presents its new face as an easy-food restaurant and cocktail bar

Experiencing burnout and is now looking for a little nature getaway away from the ever-so-busy Phnom Penh? Feeling nostalgic and homesick for WILD but can't make time to travel long hours to Siemreap? Then you’re in luck because WILD just landed in Phnom Penh with a baggage full of their infamous spring rolls and scenic courtyard!

Recently, the FoodBuzz team just unearthed this hidden gem along Norodom Boulevard and just like its name, this restaurant and cocktail bar offers a sense of the WILD right in the middle of a busy city. We notice the greenery of trees and plants inside the area, causing a cold breeze to blow in an unstuffed open space with a whispering smell of nature. It was a rainy day when we arrived at WILD, and with this incident combined with the decoration, lighting, and music, everything’s been created just for this magical and fairytale-like atmosphere.

In this spacious courtyard, there are various seating areas such as Outdoor—suitable for a carefree friend-gathering under the night sky—, Indoor—offering a more private dining experience surrounded by beautiful art canvas decorated the wall— and finally, the Bar —truly made for those who want to grab a drink accompanied by soulful music—.

WILD is especially specialized in serving spring rolls with a variety of choices for fillings and sauces. We ordered two types of spring rolls, Cambodian-style spring roll—available to choose from chicken, duck or veggies filling— and Western-style spring roll—WILD Wild West with beef and cheese inside served with WILD's signature mayonnaise sauce—. The portion of the spring roll is appropriately acceptable and well-fried, and the taste is undeniably delicious as well.

For healthier choices, you can opt for WILD's salad bowl during the day, but if you come later at night like us, a fresh spring roll or salad roll is exactly all you need. We had the Ave Caesar, consisting of salad, chicken, parmesan cheese, and a tasty salad dressing, best suited for alternating bites with the deep-fried spring rolls.

In such an atmosphere, can't you have a cocktail? Don't worry, a good mocktail is your go-to choice. With California Kiss, we got the sweet and sour taste from the shop's homemade mango juice and pomegranate syrup, and there is also an extra gimmick where you can add in the spiciness as much as you want with the spicy chili juice.

The naming of foods and drinks in the menu is really creative and unique, and if you're there for the first time, the staff will introduce each item in great detail. Some other drinks like Alice In Wonderland, James Bond On Holidays and Alice In Disneyland are what we can’t wait to try next time.

If you're looking for an outdoor experience of nature in the city, with simple snacks and awesome cocktails, WILD will not disappoint you!
