Boeung Keng Kang is widely recognized for having a wide variety of stylish cafés yet this newly launched cafe is getting all the right attention. 

Opened on 8th of April 2023, The Grounds is a pretty little spot focusing Western-styled brunch and drinks. Its nordic-inspired minimalist decor is generating quite a buzz amongst its young customers.

You can tell by FoodBuzz’s photos that the decor is very picturesque with the bright green cactus and plants contrasting the red clay walls and the outdoorsy camping-inspired furniture.

Other than their interior design, FoodBuzz was also interested in their Brunch Menu as well and we tried three dishes that’s most intriguing to us.

The first one is called Buttermilk Waffles Fried Chicken that just happened to be our personal favorite. This dish included Crispy Buttermilk Waffles, fried chicken and Maple Syrup drizzled on top. The waffle is soft and sweet that complemented the salty fried chicken so well. While we thought the flavor combination wouldn't work, they proved us wrong!

We also got their most expensive dish on the menu which is called Ml-Salom. It had Grilled Miso Salmon Filet, Onsen Egg, Salad Kewpie Mayo and Furikake Sprinkles. The huge salmon filet kinda justified their pricing and we can tell that they took their time with this dish as the outside of the salmon was crispy yet the inside remained soft and tender. This one is perfect for our health junkies!

Well, this third dish is also a healthy choice but it’s not as unique because we had Caesar Salad before. Comprising Romaine Lettuce, Grilled Chicken Breast, Poached Egg, Crispy Bacon with Homemade dressing, this dish is a little salty to us but that’s just how most Caesar Salad is, right? However since the chicken breast is lightly seasoned, the taste kinda balanced each other out. 

For the drink, we ordered 2 types of drink which were Lychee Lemon Tea and Ichigo Milk. Lychee Lemon Tea is a type of fizzy soda that smells and tastes with Lychee that’s sweet and sour that’s perfect for this Cambodian heat. Ichigo Milk is a milk-based drink with strawberry bites and jam that’s a light drink to sip on.
