When it’s about goat meat, most people may be afraid of the weird smelt and some might be worried about the price. If you are one of them, this local hot pot restaurant should be your best option. “Ta Hai Goat Hot Pot” serves the best food using goat meat at an affordable price and it is one of the well-loved dining places by local people.

It’s said that this restaurant has been operating for many years but they just recently changed the location and upgraded the place as well as their unique menu. Though the new location is quite hidden, it’s getting much love and support. Truth be told, when we first got there seeing the decoration was kinda middle-class, we expected the price to be quite high, but we were wrong. Glancing at the price list on the menu, we started to smile and looked at one another with the same thoughts in mind.

Not knowing what to choose, we asked for the recommendation from the owner and we had the chance to taste their signature and their much-loved dishes: Hot pot set and special goat meat roti. The hot pot set includes a bunch of veggies (Chinese cabbages, Pak choi, Choy Sum, Taro…), tofu, fresh rice noodles, egg, tofu skin, goat meat plus the signature dipping sauce. The taste of our second dish was also incredible. It was well-cooked and well-seasoned that the taste keeps staying in our hearts.

Besides the food we mentioned above, this hidden gem also serves many more dishes with goat meat such as the VIP goat penis soup set, spicy grilled goat meat, hot and spicy fried goat meat, and some seafood dishes. Guess what? We have learned this fun secret from a group of loyal customers sitting right next to our table that the broth that first comes and after all ingredients dipping are different but both are truly flavorful.

Their family recipe bringing about unique and appetizing taste should be the reason why this place is loved by many people, not only local people but also tourists.
