Cambodia pork and banana sticky rice cake: Super delicious recipe for Khmer New Year

The idea of making homemade dessert always brings out the next level of tenderness. And Khmer New Year is just a few days away, so one of the trendy desserts during this time is the sticky rice cake. Due to that, today FoodBuzz is going to introduce the recipe of Cambodian pork and banana sticky rice cake for you to make it at home as well. 

  • Pork sticky rice cake

#Ingredients

  • Sticky rice 1.5kg
  • Mung bean 250g
  • Pork belly 500g
  • Garlic 
  • seasoning
  • Salt 1/3 tbsp
  • Sugar 1tpsp
  • Pepper ½ tbsp
  • Coconut milk
  • Coconut meat
  • Banana leaf
  • Banana leaf string or cooking string

#Instructions 

  • First, rinse sticky rice, Mung bean and soak it for 20minutes then drain the water out. 
  • Boil coconut cream for 15minutes 
  • Bring the pork belly out then mix it well with chopped garlic, a little bit of seasoning, salt, sugar, and pepper
  • Next step, For the sticky rice, add a little seasoning, salt, sugar, coconut meat, and boiled coconut milk and mix it well
  • Prepare banana leaf and make sure it is clean then put sticky rice and mung bean on it and add pork in the middle and connect both sides of a banana leaf so the sticky rice will closely wrap the pork well and roll it up tightly afterward wrap it with banana leaf string or cooking string. 
  • Put it into the boiled water and boil it for 2hours.

  • Banana Sticky rice cake 

#Ingredients

  • Sticky rice 1.5kg

  • Ripe Nam Wa Bananas
  • Coconut milk
  • Coconut meat
  • Seasoning
  • Salt 1/3 tbsp
  • Sugar 1tpsp
  • Banana leaf
  • Banana leaf string or cooking string

#Instructions 

  • First, rinse sticky rice, Mung bean and soak it for 20minutes then drain the water out. 
  • Boil coconut cream for 15minutes
  • Next step, For the sticky rice, add a little seasoning, salt, sugar, coconut meat, and boiled coconut milk into it and mix well
  • Peel the banana layer off, add salt and sugar and mix it well then squeeze and roll the banana with sticky rice 
  • Prepare banana leaves and make sure it is clean then put sticky rice on it and add banana in the middle and connect both sides of a banana leaf so the sticky rice will closely wrap the banana well and roll it up tightly afterward wrap it with banana leaf string or cooking string.
  • Put it into the boiled water and boil it for 2hours.
