A Touch of French: Dine in like a King at Palais de la Poste

Ever since the launching of FoodBuzz Cambodia, we have covered a large variety of authentic restaurants and showcase each of their own specialty. Today it is our honor to get a special invite from one of the most historical locations in Cambodia, “Palais de la Poste”.

For a brief history, “Palais de la Poste” was originally built and converted into the Bank of Indochina. Through decades, this bank-turned restaurant has gone through many transformations until named “Palais de la Poste” in 2018.

As “Palais” is referred to as “Palace” in French,  of course, we had expected a great dine and service like royalty here, and yes we were not wrong! Upon arrival, we were welcomed by very amicable staff and placed on comfortable seating around French scenery and greenery.

We have also got a chance to try a few of their signature dishes:

One standout dish we would like to point out is the savory “Swiss Cheese Fondue”. Picture a whole loaf of cheese gets melted on hot stove then soak in some small cut French baguette. The more you have them, the more you will enjoy them! Not to mention this dish is very aesthetic as well!

Another cuisine we wholeheartedly recommend is “Oktoberfest Pan”. Oktoberfest is an autumn festival held in Munich, Germany where everyone gathers for a feast and drinks. To give respect to its previous owner who is German, the restaurant serves “Oktoberfest Pan”, roasting pork knuckles with foreign sausages, potatoes, and gravy sauce slow-cooked in one big pot. Definitely a great choice for sharing also.

Other honorable mentions include: Niçoise salad, seafood soup, and Serrano pizza, and don’t forget their liquors that go along unequivocally well with the tantalizing meal and delight.

Serene atmosphere, tempting taste and equipped with fascinating history, Palais de la Poste definitely lives up to its decades-long reputation, and when it comes to French-styled fine dining experience, this restaurant has got to be your best option.
