Nompong 168: the place to get your Khmer deep-fried pastries, hot and crispy!

As we know, Kandal Market is one of the hotspots for all the foodies! From authentic noodle places to cafes to street food, just name it and it’s there! For today, StreetBuzz wants to introduce you to this amazing stall that pumped out hot and crispy Khmer deep-fried pastries every day!

Nompong 168, located around the central market, has been open since the 2000s. The current owner inherited this business from his mother and continued to keep her legacy alive. At his place, there are 3 famous fried pastries such as deep-fried dough flavored pandan leaves, deep-fried buns and deep-fried spring rolls. He starts frying from around 2 PM until everything is sold out. Thanks to the variety of pastries and affordable prices (only 1,000 riels for each pastry), most of his regulars would come flocking everyday for their favorites.

Since this place doesn’t offer any delivery service, it’s best for you to come down to Kandal Market and try it for yourself! A little tip, don’t wait too late in the evening since there would be quite a crowd and you’re not even guaranteed to get one since it’d be all sold out! Don’t say we didn’t tell you haha!
