Louisiana: Cambodian-Owned, USA fried chicken chain now available in Exchange Square!
Louisiana Famous Fried Chicken originated in the US and has gained popularity nowadays, expanding over 300 branches worldwide. Even more surprising, this brand is currently owned and led by a Cambodian, Mr. Michael P. Eng, and first landed the restaurant in its birth country, Cambodia, in 2020 by Ms. Chan Katarina.
But did you know that Louisiana Famous Fried Chicken just opened their brand new 3rd branch on the 2nd floor of Exchange Square Mall? Well, now you do! Needless to say, this new branch is bigger than ever and is a hotspot for office workers and those who reside around the Wat Phnom area.
Arriving at the store, we have a chance to see the food-making processes guaranteeing the standards of cooking, operation and hygiene. With our foodie spirits, all hesitation aside and we're so excited to try everything here!
First and foremost, we kick-started with the Family Pax Combo set consisting of 10 pieces of fried chicken, 4 pieces of sweet roll with 4 side orders and the 1.5L Coca-Cola which could surprisingly fill us up to 4-5.
With the crispy skin on the outside and the juicy tenderness of the chicken on the inside, the frying technique here is undeniably unique and special from the rest. We love the seasoning of it where the light saltiness and spiciness was infused in the meat, creating a delicious bite even when eating plain. Interestingly, we bet you'll also love it with the restaurant's signature chili sauce. A tip from us, please be careful when you're eating because the freshly cooked chicken is still hot as all are made-to-order pieces and it takes only around 15 minutes to serve.
Followed by burger-like Spicy Chicken Sandwich, the bun is crispy with the hot savory fried chicken in the middle and it's flavorful that we're undoubted it's the second best-seller.
We also tried the Lobster Roll, an exclusive offer available for the first time in Cambodia at Louisiana. Not to mention the creamy sauce topping and soft bread beneath, the mouthful lobster pieces already captured our hearts as a food lover. Apart from this, some other specialties like the finger-licking Tamarind Wing, the Khmer seasoning Drunken Noodle and the special Spicy Shrimp Taco and Shrimp Fried Rice are what you shouldn't look over and worth trying.
Tamarind Wing was highly recommended for those who are not much of a fan of Fried Chicken. Their sweet and sour tamarind sauce was just perfect and it made the wings extremely juicy. On the other hand, Drunken Noodle was also the right cure for hangovers if you ever need one.
If you want to try these masterpieces developed by our fellow Cambodian, Don't miss Louisiana!
