Phum Num Banh Chok is Showcasing the Khmer Heritage Noodle on a Whole Different Level

Have you ever wonder how our popular dishes, Khmer noodle is made? If your answer is yes, this should be the perfect place for you to try out the original taste of Khmer noodle using 100% local organic ingredients with different kinds of broth as well as to learn about the making process of our noodle.

This newly-opened place, being born with the purpose of showcasing Cambodian identical food to other nations and introducing the family recipe with their around-30-years’ experience to everyone, has been loved by both local people and international tourists visiting the land of Angkor city.

Travelling on the riverside road of Siem Reap river (going to Spean Neak), which is quite narrow but truly shady with the huge trees on the sides, located right next to the Culture Café, you will see a tiny creative board says “Phnum Num Banh Chok” (literally means The Village of Khmer Noodle).

This so-called little village has amazing atmosphere as we were feeling at our own home or were visiting a tiny village designed and decorated with Cambodian styles and arts. It’s even more special when it’s covered with the beauty of nature.

Right here, they serve Khmer noodle with a few options of much-loved broth and dressing sauce such as Samlar Brahar, Fish Gravy, Samlar Kdard, special fish sauce, salty sauce with Pra-hok. All types of Num Banh Chok always come with fresh vegetable.

We can’t miss sharing you about the way they garnish and decorate the dishes. Truth be told, you can easily get food porn with any dishes. Even the utensils, bowls, and everything are wonderfully antique. It feels like we were going back to those old days, trying out the unique flavor of Khmer cuisine right in the middle of Angkor city.

Besides Khmer noodle, they also have porridge, fresh and cold sugarcane and coconut juice as well as a number of Cambodian desserts.

Last but surely no least, if you visit the place in the morning (between 9:00-11:00AM), you can learn how Khmer noodle is made and can even try out by ourselves. It’s like killing 2 birds with 1 stone, you can reward your body and brain simultaneously.
