Recommended Eateries for your Whole Day Touring around Angkor Wat Complex
If you plan to visit Angkor Wat Complex for a whole day, there is no need to worry about what to eat around there since there are some places we would like to recommend you and we believe that you will love it so much if you are a foodie who loves to try out our local food.
#1 The Famous Roasted Chicken for Lunch
The highly-recommended lunch menu is the roasted Khmer farm chicken with brown rice, which you can find at 3 different locations around there. You may try out one the food stalls right in front of Angkor Wat temple or have a check at one of the restaurants around the Western area of Angkor Wat…
One of the places we had tried out and fell in love with their dishes is named “Prahok” (the name sounds familiar to you, right?). The best food they serve here are the roasted chicken, grilled Prahok and Cambodian sour soup.

If you already pass by the Angkor Wat temple and realize that it’s already lunch time, you do not need to go back there; there is another great option for you, which is to enjoy the similar food nearby Srah Srang Temple. Get on the road (Western side) and you will see a village road with the signs of a few restaurants, just get in one of them. But the one we love the most is “Ktom Sre Khmer Food”.

#2 Banh Chhev (Crispy Pancakes)
Apparently, “Banh Chhev Angkor” is one the locals’ favorite, where you tuck in their best-selling Banh Chhev and some other light snacks such as fried meatball, grilled beef skewer etc.

If you are going on the same road toward Siem Reap Airport, you can also find a few more similar places, one is next to Angkor Balloon and another one is quite close to the airport.
#3 Khmer Noodle with Prahok sauce
Even this dish has just become popular early this year, you should never miss trying this as you can easily find one when you get on the way around the Trorpang Sess (a huge lake next to Angkor Wat) and somewhere before Bakheng Mountain.
One of them is named in the translated version as “Khmer Noodle with Prahok Sauce, Cambodian taste”, where you can enjoy the authentic of freshly-made Khmer noodle eaten with fresh local vegetables plus the special homemade sauce. The best fit would be a glass of cold and sweet sugarcane.

#4 Chicken Congee
After a long tiring day of visiting around temples, just get a big bowl of appetizing chicken rice porridge of this place in the evening to powerfully boost up your energy.

#5 Coffee
Besides the small coffee stalls or street cafes, we have found a newly-opened café, “Biolab Srah Srang”, situated on an ancient Khmer traditional house, which will surely get your attention when travelling along the Northern Srah Srang temple. For non-coffee drinkers, you can also get order your preferred hot or cold drinks and even some Khmer dishes if you feel lunchy when getting there.
