Crispy Pork Belly with Tamarind Sauce! Delicious recipe that you should try!

This Crispy Pork Belly with Tamarind Sauce is as good as it sounds! Savory and sour with a little of spiciness and you have yourself a perfect dinner! Cookbuzz is here to show you how to make our own version of this iconic Khmer meal.

Ingredients:

Pork Belly (1 Kilo)

Scallion (6 bunches)

Parsley (8 bunches)

Chili powder (3 tablespoons)

Black peppers (1 tablespoon)

Garlic (4 cloves)

Sugar (3 tablespoons)

Salt (3 tablespoons)

Vinegar (5 tablespoons)

Tamarind juice (4 tablespoons)

Roasted glutinous rice (5 tablespoons)

Fish sauce (5 tablespoons)

Shallot (4 cloves)

Lime (3 tablespoons)

Recipe:

1. Boil the pork belly and add in scallion, parsley root, chili powder, black peppers, garlic and salt. Let it cook for 15 minutes.

2. Poke the boiled pork belly skin with a fork all over before scoring the skin. Rub in the vinegar and salt and let it dry marinate for 2-3 hours before fry it for 15 minutes.

3. Prepare special sauce such as fish sauce, tamarind juice, sugar, a little salt, dried chili, roasted glutinous rice, lime, shallot and parsley. Then stir it well. You can change up the recipe based on your liking, too!

4. Now that it is done, you can serve it as you like but don’t forget to plate up some crispy lettuce, parsley, shredded carrot and radish as well as khmer noodle (Num Banhchok)!
