Eat like the First Lady of South Korea at Crazy Ttukbokki!

During her visit to Cambodia, First Lady of South Korea, Kim Keon-hee, took time out of her busy schedule to visit a local Korean restaurant called Crazy Ttukbokki. The lady not only expressed her support, but also highly appraised the snack bar as well.

In terms of authenticity, Crazy Ttukbokki is run by a South Korean owner who wants to share his culture with Cambodian locals. His menu includes popular South Korean street food like simmered rice cakes (ttukbokki), seafood noodles (jjambbong), black noodles (jjajang), fire noodles (buldak), Korean fried chicken, etc.

Currently, you can order the Korean First Lady’s pick, a set that includes the top 3 choices by the First Lady herself. This set includes Crazy Ttukbokki, Rice Balls, King Kimari, and an extra Peach drink.

The ttukbokki stands out for being strong, savory, spicy, and slightly sour. The contents include generous servings of sausages, fish cakes, Korean glass noodles, cabbages, and the star of the show, rice cakes. The rice cakes are long and chewy.

As for the Rice Balls, they’re made from rice mixed with fish roe, bits of seaweed, and seasoning. And the King Kimari, probably the most unique out of the 3, are deep fried seaweed rolls stuffed with chewy, glass noodles. Dipping them in the ttukbokki sauce elevates the taste. Trust us!

It doesn’t end here. There are different Korean soft drinks available including Peach, Grape, and Milkis. The Peach is highly recommended because the taste is guaranteed to be different and the sweetness balances with the spicy food.

The shop has a clean interior with a huge projector playing Kpop music videos. It’s a great  after-school hangout spot for students or for adults to relax after work.

Bop along to your favorite Kpop songs as you enjoy your food that’s picked out by the First Lady of South Korea at Crazy Ttukbokki!
