Superfast and delish Asian recipe – Chili garlic prawn!
If you are running out of ideas of what to make for dinner, then don’t forget to try out this recipe! Chili garlic prawn or shrimp is a super delicious dish that is simple to make. With a sweet and spicy taste, this dish is perfect to eat with rice.
#Ingredients:
- 500g prawn/shrimp (peeled and deveined)
- 1 1/2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 3 garlic cloves (finely minced)
- 2 tsp ginger (grated or finely chopped) Optional*
- 1 tsp chili flakes
- 125 ml water
- 3 tbsp Sriracha (Chili Sauce)
- 2 tsp soy sauce
- 3 tbsp brown/white sugar
#How to cook:
1. Heat oil in a frying pan over high heat. Fry the prawns or shrimps for about 45 seconds until golden, then remove into a bowl.
2. Keep the frying pan then turn down the heat to medium.
3. Add sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and chili flakes. Cook until the garlic turns golden.
4. Add water, Sriracha, soy sauce, and sugar, then stir and increase heat to medium-high. Let it simmer for 3 minutes or until the sauce starts to thicken or turn into a thin syrup.
5. Add the fried prawns or shrimps into the frying pan and toss to coat in the sauce then cook for 1 - 2 minutes until prawns or shrimps are coated nicely.
6. Garnish with sesame seeds, fresh chili, and shallots (optional). Serve with rice to soak up the awesome sauce!
