Could it be a rumor? Cow excrement is used to create CHANANG. Let's dive into detail.

The meal of ethnic minorities, Chanang is a highly well-liked dish in Ratanakiri Province. Chanang's soup has a strong black hue, unlike other of our traditional Khmer dishes, because of a plant called ghost beans. There are several tales that Chanang soup is produced using cow excrement, which would explain why it has a distinct hue and smell. However, this doesn't seem to be the case.

In addition to its cooling and refreshing effects, this plant also offers various health advantages.

Additionally, since the owner's sister is a Khmer Kreung Nationality from Ratanakiri region, eating a dish of Chanang is like dining in Ratanakiri itself. The ingredients in this restaurant are also directly imported from Ratanakiri province.

For the taste of this shop,we admins really liked it and wanted to recommend it to you all who used to try Chanang and those who did not dare to try it, as we will not normally find this type of indigenous food at an affordable price. A plate costs only 10,000 riel.

For those of you who are still unaware of the kind of meat that is used in this meal, it is made of beef and cow skin, as several people still wonder about this process of cooking.

Apart from Chanang, this sister’s shop also has a special dish, which is black sour rice with dried and grilled buffalo, and in terms of taste, it has a strong and bold one.Because this shop focuses on the original taste from Ratanakiri, the more you eat, the more you want to have some more.

Don't forget to come and try it together at least once to get to know the real taste of Chanang.
