The Delicious Cambodia Crispy Fried Shrimp Recipe!

Crispy Fried Shrimp is one of the all-time favorite snacks for almost all Cambodians. The crispy texture with little shrimp and the lime dipping sauce on it will make this snack become one of your favorites too. And here is the simple and easy recipe for you. 

#Ingredients for the fried shrimp batter  

  • 200g of Small Shrimp 
  • 100g of Rice Flour
  • ½ teaspoon of Baking powder (or baking soda)
  • ½ teaspoon of salt 
  • 150ml of water 
  • 1 Egg 

#Ingredients for the dipping salt 

  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • ½ teaspoon of sugar 
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper 
  • 1 lime 

#How to Make 

  • In a small bowl, combine salt, sugar, and black pepper and set it aside. 
  • In a big bowl, combine rice flour, baking powder, salt, paprika powder and mix it well. 
  • Crack one egg beat it well and add in the flour mixture. 
  • Gradually pour the150 ml of water into the flour mixture while stirring until the batter is thin. 
  • Add the small shrimp into the batter. 
  • On the stove with medium-high heat, fill cooking oil onto the pan, take one tablespoon of the shrimp batter, and fried it in the pan. 
  • Cook each side for 30 seconds until it is golden brown. 
  • Serve it by sprinkling the dipping salt and squeeze some lime on top and enjoy!
