Breakfast under 2 dollars challenge in Phnom Penh (Part 1)

This place is near and dear to me as I have been eating breakfast there for quite a while already. It is located near DN. Hidden in the small street of DN, the place is called Chhnganh Chhnganh Cafeteria. They serve the classic Cambodian breakfast pork chop rice, chicken rice, Kuy Teav, and drinks.

Whenever I go there, I would always order pork chop rice with shredded egg. The dish comes with one small bowl of pork soup, and pickled radish on the side. I really like the pork chop as it was marinated so well. In my opinion, the green onion oil that drizzles lightly on top of the rice makes the dish 10 times better.

Once in a while, I would order the chicken rice there. Sometimes, I would order thick-cut noodles with meatball soup. I prefer thicker cut noodles than thinner cut noodle-like Kuy Teav for some reason.

Of course, you can’t have breakfast without coffee. The milk coffee there is quite nice. It is not a strong coffee and it is slightly sweet from the condensed milk. I am not a coffee drinker so I often order ice lemon tea or lemon green tea, but it's good to drink coffee every now and then.

The pork chop is only at 5000 riels and it is packed with pork, egg, and rice. The Milk Coffee is only 3000 riels. A very filling and delicious breakfast. It is a great way to start the day!
