Easy Korean marinated eggs (Mayak eggs) recipe!
If you are looking for a simple marinated egg recipe, then this recipe is the right one for you! Even if you don’t know how to cook, you still can easily make this by following the recipe below.
#Ingredients
- 6 eggs
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp white vinegar
- 8 tbsp soy sauce
- 8 tbsp water
- 8 tbsp rice syrup or honey
- 3 garlic cloves, chopped
- 3 to 4 green onions, chopped
- 1 green chili, chopped (optional)
- 1 red chili, chopped (optional)
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
#Instructions
1. Put water into a pot then add salt and vinegar and bring to boil over high heat. Once the water is boiled, add the eggs and cook for 6 minutes for runny yolk or 10 minutes for hard-boiled eggs.
2. After that transfer the boiled eggs to an ice water bath. Let it cool completely.
3. For the sauce, combine soy sauce, water, and rice syrup/honey then stir well. After that add garlic, green onions, chilies, and sesame seeds then stir again.
4. Back to the eggs, peel carefully without damaging then put into an air-tight container that you are going to store the eggs. Then pour the sauce mixture over the eggs, cover, and store in a refrigerator for at least 6 hours to overnight before serving. This will last 5 to 7 days in a refrigerator.
5. Serve with warm cooked rice and drizzled some sesame oil!
